ABOUT MAI POWER SYSTEMS
Built on Experience.
Focused on Reliability.
MAI Power Systems was founded with a simple idea: electrical systems should not only work — they should be
understandable, maintainable and reliable
throughout their entire lifecycle.
Built on more than a decade of hands-on and
leadership experience in electrical power systems, MAI combines technical knowledge, practical field
experience and a systematic approach to solving
complex electrical challenges.

From the Field to Technical Leadership.
The experience behind MAI Power Systems
began in Germany with technical training in industrial electrical systems and developed through more than a decade of work across low- and medium-voltage power systems.
That experience grew from hands-on
electrical work and commissioning into project responsibility, system planning and technical leadership — including responsibility for electrical infrastructure projects, teams, budgets and complex customer applications.
This combination of field experience and technical leadership shapes the way MAI
approaches every project: understand the system, understand the problem and develop a practical solution that works in real-world operation.
German Roots.
American Focus.
MAI Power Systems brings experience from the German
electrical industry to industrial and infrastructure applications in the United States.
Working across European and American electrical
environments requires more than translating drawings or
replacing components. Different standards, documentation practices, equipment philosophies and operating
requirements must be understood as part of the complete system.
MAI combines experience with IEC-based systems and European equipment with a growing focus on U.S. industrial practices, requirements and applications.

How We Work.
UNDERSTAND
Understand the system before changing it.
DOCUMENT
Clear documentation creates reliable systems.
VERIFY
Measure, test and verify instead of assuming.
SOLVE
Focus on practical solutions that work in real operation.
IMPROVE
Use every project to improve reliability, maintainability and understanding.
Experience Across the Electrical Lifecycle.

From initial planning to long-term operation, MAI Power Systems approaches electrical systems as a complete lifecycle rather than a collection of
individual tasks.
Denis Mai
Founder | Power Systems Specialist
Denis Mai is the founder of MAI Power Systems and an electrical power systems specialist with more than a decade of
experience spanning industrial electrical systems, low- and medium-voltage power distribution, protection and control, commissioning, troubleshooting and technical leadership.
His career in the electrical industry began in Germany in 2010 with vocational training as an Industrial Electronics Technician. What started with hands-on electrical work quickly developed into broader technical responsibility and, later,
entrepreneurship. For approximately six years, Denis worked
independently in the German electrical industry, gaining
experience not only in the technical execution of electrical work but also in planning, customer coordination, project
delivery and business operations.
Over the following years, his focus increasingly shifted toward electrical power systems and infrastructure. His work included low- and medium-voltage systems up to 36kV, industrial and commercial power distribution, customer substations,
transformers, protection and secondary systems,
commissioning, troubleshooting and the integration of
customer installations with the public distribution grid.
Denis later joined a regional German electricity distribution company, where his responsibilities grew from technical project work into departmental leadership. As Department Head for Technical Grid Services, he was responsible for
developing and leading a specialized technical services
department operating at the interface between
customer-owned electrical systems and the public distribution network.
His role combined technical decision-making with personnel leadership, project management, budgeting, customer
development and operational responsibility. The department managed an annual project portfolio exceeding €2.5 million, with as many as 60+ annual projects running concurrently, covering industrial and commercial grid connections, medium-voltage installations, customer substations, transformers, modernization projects and complex energy systems.
This progression — from hands-on electrical work to
entrepreneurship, power-system projects and technical
leadership — shaped Denis' approach to electrical systems. Rather than looking at planning, protection, testing,
commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting as isolated activities, he approaches them as interconnected parts of the same system lifecycle.
In 2026, Denis relocated from Germany to South Carolina, bringing that experience into the U.S. industrial environment. Working with both European and American electrical systems further reinforced the value of understanding the differences between equipment, documentation practices, standards and operating philosophies on both sides of the Atlantic.
That combination of practical field experience, power-system knowledge, project responsibility and technical leadership forms the professional foundation behind MAI Power Systems.
